Before deciding what to make,
we settle why you are making it.

Brand direction and business strategy, market research, concept and USP, cost and pricing, distribution channels, and the P&L after launch — we work through the judgement calls with you. Because the planning comes from people who manufacture, plans that cannot be produced never make it onto the table.

01

Define

What has to be settled before anything is made.

  1. 01

    Brand Direction & Business Strategy

    Why does this brand exist?

We settle why you are building it, who you are selling to, and which market you compete in.

    Example

Low-irritation skincare for women in their 20s and 30s with sensitive skin.

Once this line is fixed, everything downstream gets easier — the formula, the price, and where you sell.

  2. 02

    Market & Competitor Research

    Who is already standing there?

Whether the category is growing, and what competitors sell at what price and volume.

    Example

Different products win on different channels. H&B stores, marketplaces, your own store, duty-free, overseas e-commerce — we look at the top sellers in your target market and judge whether the space is crowded or still open.

  3. 03

    Brand Identity

What does this brand look like?

Name, story, slogan, tone of voice, colour and visual mood, pulled in one direction.

    Example

Clean, derma, premium — or emotional, trend-driven, Gen Z?

Once decided, the packaging, the ads and every single photo follow it.

  4. 04

    Product Portfolio

How many products should you launch with?

Narrow to a single hero product, or open with a full line.

    Example

Toner, serum and cream — or everything behind one serum?

Each product plays a different role. We decide which one wins attention and which one earns the margin.

  5. 05

    Product Concept & USP

Why this product and not another?

The reason someone picks yours off the shelf. This is the most important line on the page.

    Example

Not a hyaluronic acid serum — an ultra-light hydrating serum that will not pill under makeup.

The name, the formula, the volume and the price all follow from that one sentence.

02

Develop

Turning the plan into something you can hold.

  1. 06

    Into Production

Do you need to go find a manufacturer now?

No. Coslab manufactures in house. There is no step for sourcing factories or comparing quotes — the concept and sensory targets set above carry straight into formulation and mass production.

  2. 07

    Development & Sampling

Does it feel the way you imagined?

We check slip, absorption, tack, scent, colour and viscosity on the first sample, then narrow through a second and third round.

    Example

Make it dewier → cut residual tack after absorption, keep the initial hydration.

The first phrasing changes nothing. The second is what a lab can actually act on.

  3. 08

    Cost & Pricing

If it retails at ₩29,000, what is left?

We build the price on the real cost — formula, container, carton, printing, filling and logistics.

    Example

A ₩29,000 shelf price does not mean ₩29,000 reaches the company.

Only after channel fees, coupons, ad spend and shipping do you see whether the maths works.

  4. 09

    Packaging & Design Direction

It looks good — but can it be produced?

Container type, pump or dropper or tube, colour, finishing, label and carton.

    Example

Looking good is not enough. We check whether it can actually be printed, whether it fits the cost, whether it survives shipping, and whether it is comfortable in the hand.

  5. 10

    Labelling & Regulatory Review

Are you allowed to say that?

We check the full ingredient list, directions, warnings, and manufacturer and distributor details.

    Example

Treats · Cures · Removes inflammation.

Claims like these can read as pharmaceutical. We catch them before they reach the product page.

Role — Final sign-off rests with the responsible distributor and a regulatory specialist.

03

Launch

A good product does not sell itself.

  1. 11

    Product Page & Content

    What should people see first?

Problem → solution → benefit → ingredients → how to use → test data → review points.

    Example

Shoot concept, whether to cast a model, social stills, short-form video, banners — listed up front, so nothing gets crammed into the week before launch.

  2. 12

    Marketing Strategy

Who hears about it, and how?

Influencer seeding, sampling programmes, social and search ads, short-form, group buying, live commerce — we pick what fits the brand and the market.

Role — Media buying sits with your team or agency. Coslab sets the brand message and campaign direction and hands it over.

  3. 13

    Distribution & Channel Strategy

Where does it need to sit to sell?

Lead with your own store, ride the large platforms, or push into offline retail and overseas markets.

    Example

The same product returns a different margin depending on where it sits.

Which is why channel and price cannot be decided separately.

  4. 14

    First Run & Inventory

How many should the first run be?

We set the opening quantity between the MOQ and your realistic sell-through.

    Example

Ten thousand units out of the gate, or a thousand to test?

Somewhere between dead stock in a warehouse and selling out at the wrong moment.

  5. 15

    Launch Schedule

When will it all be ready?

Trademark filing, manufacturing, containers, design, photography, product page, storefront and ads all run at once.

    Example

They are all interlocked, so one slip moves everything. Owners and deadlines go on a single sheet.

04

Operate

Launch is not the end. It is where the data starts.

  1. 16

    Launch & Early Operations

It is selling — so what do you watch?

Opening volume, reviews, return reasons, ad efficiency and customer questions.

    Example

The scent is too strong. The pump is awkward. Less hydrating than I expected.

Sentences like these become the revision brief for the next run.

  2. 17

    Sales Data & P&L

    Is it actually profitable?

Revenue and units by product, ad spend, basket size, repeat rate and margin.

    Example

This is where you learn which channel really pays, what to reorder, and what to discontinue.

  3. 18

    Next Products & Brand Extension

    What do you make next?

Once the first product holds, we plan the next.

    Example

If the serum worked, a cream, a mask or a cleanser can follow. We pace the expansion so the brand does not blur into everything.

We will map out
where to begin.

Whether it is still only an idea or you have already held a sample, tell us where you are and we will walk you through what comes next.
