What does MOQ mean?
MOQ means Minimum Order Quantity. In cosmetics, the bulk formula, container, pump, cap, label, carton, and printing may each have a different minimum order.
Why can two 1,000-unit projects have different conditions?
1. Formula and process
Toners, creams, cleansers, and color cosmetics use different ingredients and processes. Batch size and expected production loss must be reviewed.
2. Ingredient purchasing units
A specialty ingredient may have a supplier minimum larger than the quantity needed for 1,000 finished products, affecting feasibility and cost.
3. Container and packaging
Stock versus custom packaging, direct printing versus labels, cartons, and finishing all change component MOQs.
4. Testing, claims, and export requirements
Required tests, labeling, and administrative steps vary by product purpose and sales market and should be reviewed during planning.
